October 5, 2019: This Community Day was spent planting some fall and winter root veggies, including beets, radishes, and carrots. We weeded the raised beds, planted them, and harvest one late watermelon that was ready to be eaten (it was so sweet!). We enjoyed our watermelon while Extension Specialist Dani Carroll taught us about best practices for seed saving, heirlooms vs. hybrids, and how to prevent cross pollination or diseases carrying through to seeds.
