November Volunteer Day

Pollinator Gardening Webinar
Interested in learning about pollinators and how to attract them to your garden? Join us on Wed November 11 at 11 am for a zoom chat with Dr. Miriam Jenkins, an expert on all things sustainable ag. She’ll be letting us know about our native pollinators to look out for and how to best support them in our gardens. This event will be hosted via Zoom.
October Community Day
Join us on Saturday, October 24th from 8 am – 11 am for our last Community Day of 2020! Enjoy free bagels and coffee, chat with your fellow gardeners, and get your hands in the dirt. We will have an opportunity for volunteers to help in our donation plots. Join us for all or only part of the morning! Groups are welcome; masks are required.
Volunteer Day: Community Space Build
Join us on Thursday, October 15 from 4-7 pm to help us build our community space at the garden! We’ll be spreading mulch for a seating area and turning old pallets into picnic tables. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Masks are required.
Open Garden Work Day
Need to have your plot tilled? Just want an excuse to spend the morning puttering around the garden? Come on out for an open garden work day. The garden crew will be on hand to assist you and to provide any tools that you may need to get your spring planting started.
Let’s Talk Soil Health
Niamke Shropshire-Boykin is a senior Horticulture student at Auburn University and the president of the Organic Gardening Club. He will be giving a hands-on talk about the importance of feeding the soil, and the benefits of supporting a diverse soil microbiome in your garden. Open to the public.
